Food Solidarity in times of post-Pandemic. The global pandemic – Covid 19 – has generated an unprecedented crisis in the daily lives of contemporary societies. Its destructive effects have been particularly intense for those individuals and populations suffering forms of violence and structural exclusion, increasing and deepening them. In the case of women, this has been particularly disturbing, as shown by the increase in cases of domestic violence and the rise in poverty and unemployment indicators. But at the same time, this crisis has fostered forms of solidarity that are often not detected by the common indicators of income distribution. In the midst of the pandemic there were also expressions of solidarity. This project seeks to combine these two issues – the special vulnerability of women to the destructive effects of the post-pandemic with informal expressions of solidarity – to meet women’s food needs and to articulate social and institutional expressions of solidarity.

Objectives

The objective of the project “Food Solidarity in times of post-pandemic” is to promote the creation of solidarity networks that contribute to an enterprising woman and her family having the guarantee of a basic food supply  through organic vegetable gardens.
