Mónica Yucuna, leader, spokeswoman and defender of the human rights of indigenous women in the Colombian Amazon, talks about the challenges her people currently face. Among them, the differences characterized by education and different treatment between girls and boys, the lack of presence and support from state organizations and indigenous institutions to support women. It also transmits us the cosmovision of their ethnicity and the importance of the wise men who guide and orient in all important aspects of life. We should protect this sacred ancestral knowledge about the chagras and medicinal plants, the management of a Maloca and the connection and deep respect with mother earth.
